Beginners
At Flintlock Beginners, we use music, dance and drama to tell a well-loved story. Young performers taking their first steps on stage work together to devise an end of term showing, build their confidence and, most importantly, have lots of fun.
Ages 5-8
Saturdays at 9.15am, 11am or 12.45pm (90-minute classes)

BEGINNERS MUSICAL THEATRE COURSES (ages 5-8):
We also run 3-day and 5-day holiday courses for younger students full of songs, dances and characters from a selection of popular stories, punctuated by lively games and arts & crafts to engage and entertain younger students. FIND A COURSE
Saturday school
Each Saturday morning, students complete a cycle of singing, dance, drama and musical theatre classes grouped by age, working as a team towards performances at local theatres. Led by an experienced, friendly teaching team, we develop performance skills, build confidence and foster an inclusive, ensemble-led approach to theatre making.

Our optional extra Musical Theatre Exam Prep class provides an opportunity for pupils who want to develop their combined acting and singing skills further, and work on material in a more focussed way in pairs or individually. Students work in line with the Trinity Musical Theatre syllabus, giving them the option to take graded musical theatre exams. These are accredited qualifications, and come with the added bonus of scoring UCAS points at the higher grades.

MUSICAL THEATRE HOLIDAY COURSES (ages 8-14):
3-day and 5-day holiday courses for older students, building performance skills as we workshop songs and scenes from a variety of well-loved musicals culminating in a class sharing.
Flintlock Youth Company
Flintlock Youth Company is a training ground for aspiring theatre-makers interested in working creatively on less conventional plays and performance styles. Working with the ethos of a small-scale professional theatre company, FYC aims to produce exciting theatre in professional venues.
There is an informal audition to join the company, and we expect our members to make a conscientious project commitment. If you're interested in joining the company, we'd love to hear from you.
